Sparking action for today, tomorrow, and years to come

Volunteers Participating in Day of Caring

Volunteers Participating in Day of Caring

As 2023 comes to a close, I am reflecting on the many challenges our communities have faced, and I am filled with overwhelming gratitude as you've been there every step of the way, partnering with United Way to help in every corner of our region.

Whether donating to our Community Impact Fund and supporting programs that provide individuals and families with opportunities to thrive, gathering your work team together to build hygiene kits, cleaning gardens during Day of Caring to create welcoming spaces for individuals fleeing violence, or showing up in droves to support 600 nonprofit organizations and causes on ROC the Day, you prove time and again your heart for this community.

You are sparking action for a better today, tomorrow, and years to come. Next month, we will share our 2023 annual campaign impact during our kickoff. We look forward to celebrating our collective impact and setting the stage for the road ahead.

We know that our work isn’t over yet. Our ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) data shows how more and more of our neighbors are relying on the critical resources of our nonprofit sector to make ends meet. And while we don’t know how the next few months will unfold, we do know that United Way is still needed—and so are you.

If you still can give this year, please consider making a gift to support our annual campaign. Every dollar counts and makes a real impact on the lives of our neighbors.

We may have a long way to go in creating a region where every individual in every community has the opportunity to thrive, but I know that with you by our side, we will get there.

From everyone here at United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, thank you for all you have done to build a stronger region.

Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season.
